Iesha & Dhaval’s home
Iesha and Dhaval’s Home
Overview
First round of discussion was between me and Dhaval as we were designing this space for ourselves . We moved to this house during the pandemic so yes challenges were very unique. The first time we entered the home, the view of the runway took our hearts and made us decide to position the sofa overlooking the balcony, unlike the usual sofa placement facing the Tv wall. Watching planes from our living room and balcony is our most favourite thing to do. The west direction elevates the living room beautifully in the evening especially during Golden hours.
Our first home was very eclectic! We were very clear about having a home that has the essence of wabi sabi mood. Wood stained in various colours is the main key element across all rooms in the house. One thing that’s common between me and Dhaval is we don’t believe in any trends. In Fact we try to run away from trends. We appreciate designs that are timeless in nature. Our home is a celebration of our love for neutral colours, wood, Indian crafts, Local Artisans, Art, plants, old world charm and geometry. A home has to bring peace to you when you enter after a long hectic day and hence we strategically chose to repeat the elements to balance and enhance the simplicity of the design language.
