A home filled with sacred quietness 

Overview:

“Ekanta”is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning ‘zen’ or ‘peace’ and is envisioned as a contemporary home that harmoniously blends the richness of Indian crafts and jewels with modern aesthetics.

Ekanta, which means solitude, is a home designed for a dear friend, envisioned as a minimal yet contemporary retreat within the inherent constraints of apartment living.

With spatial planning largely fixed, the walls became our primary canvas. Through tone-on-tone panelling and explorations in subtle geometry, surfaces were articulated to create depth without disruption. Shadow lines, textures and restrained detailing replaced ornamentation.

The home is driven by a palette of monochromes, neutrals and soft pastels. Rather than relying on bold contrast, we allowed nuance to lead to layering of similar tones to create warmth and quiet movement. The restraint in colour brings clarity, allowing every material to breathe.
